Lovely MsDressy Giveaway

Giveaway following blogpost!  Please remember, in order to have a valid entry, the first three entry options are REQUIRED!

Evening Dress | DresseStylist    Suede Wedges | Gift from Jas! [Gracias Jas!]

And finally, the awaited post to win a MsDressy giftcard is here!  Today I am wearing a romantic A-line scoop chiffon evening dress in claret.  It is so gorgeous, and I feel like royalty wearing this.  The scoop is such a romantic detailing on both the front and the back.  All I need now is a "potential husband-type man" to invite me to a charity gala, to fulfill my romantic-chick flick dream life!  [Apply in the comments below] haha.  Oh yes, this could work.

You probably can't tell in these photos, but when I took this shoot this morning, the temperature was technically below freezing and there was a wind advisory warning.  Oh the not-so-intelligent things I do for the sake of blogging.  But I just love how the wind was able to capture the chiffon and allow it to swim around my body, in such a dreamy manner.  Even when the feeling in my arms, face, and toes started to leave me due to the weather, I completely ignored it because I was living in the mindset of royalty!

For you who are returning readers and those of you who actually know me, this dress completely fits my fairy tale imagination!  Chiffon and sparkles are so delicately appropriate for life.  Speaking of life, I am still having trouble being love to people.  Just the other day I caught myself being completely judgmental - what I said could have started a rumor. I felt so ashamed when I realized this.  When things like this happen, I realize that I am far from where I am suppose to be.  It is one thing to think something in your head and catch yourself, but is is a completely different level when you actually say it out loud.  This is one of the current things I am working on.  So, I have verses from the book of Ezekiel in the Bible,  love word:

24“‘For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather
you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. 25I will sprinkle clean
water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your
impurities and from all your idols.26I will give you a
new heart and put a new spirit in you;
I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
27And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my
decrees and be careful to keep my laws. 28You will live in
the land I gave your forefathers; you will be my people, and I will be your God.
-Ezekiel 36:24-28

eFoxcity Lookbook

I put together some of the cute photos from eFox City together for today's post.  If you are new to this site, allow me to enlighten you.  EFox City is an online retailer that specializes in wholesale items.  They have  wedding dresses 2013 ,  cheap prom dresses , inexpensive fashion dresses and jewelry.   I love looking through sites like this, because the modeling is so girly and cutesy!  My favorite outfits from this lookbook are the pastels, lace and chiffon.  Aside from the 90s, pastels have always been an ongoing trend.  Also, if you are a blogger, there is a special page you may want to check out HERE!

I'm excited because I have a special post for you on Sunday!  *shimmy dance* Uploading personal photos today is too much of a hassle. I am exhausted from overextending myself this week. It was one of those weeks where I had 24 hours in each day but fit 28 hours worth of activities into each of those days.

I have a huge scholarship due in a few weeks, and it is prestigious and nationally competitive.  In a way, I already feel defeated because I know I am not the top candidate.  There have been many stages of this scholarship and I have come very far, but only 50 undergraduate students nationally win this graduate school scholarship.  I spent over  200 hours working on this.  Knowing that I am not among the top candidates at this stage scares me.  I don't want to feel like this was a waste of time.  If anything, this scholarship helped prepare me for the graduate school application process.  My drive is almost completely in God's hands at this point... because I think I have lost my motivation to have a heart for this scholarship in itself.

But then again... I only feel defeated because I am comparing myself to the other candidates, perhaps I should focus on the prize.  What I need is to know that no matter what I do, it should be for the Lord.  If this scholarship will better help me bring his love to the world, it will be mine.  Now for some love words from the Bible:

In the same way, you who are younger,
submit yourselves to your elders. All of you,
clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,
“God opposes the proud

but shows favor to the humble.”[a]
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand,
that he may lift you up in due time.
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Dearly needing Shut-eye,
Christine

The Kitty Hoodie

I am so busy that that I don't have time for a luscious, fantastical post tonight, but I wanted to share with you the promised photo shoot I took for my friend Safra last month!  Let me know what you think.

As for what's currently on my mind... well, my second semester of my junior year of college starts tomorrow.  Thinking about that is making each breath I take more and more shallow.  I also feel tenseness in my chest just thinking about the semester, talk about first world problems.  But aside from the human on human interaction I am anxious about, I am looking forward to working on the final submission of the Truman scholarship I have my university's nomination for. I am also coordinating a Freedom Walk I have spent almost 20 hours of my break working on, with fellow BASI committee member, Dave.  I am very excited because I am planning a human trafficking exhibit, inviting a group to come in and do a training, inviting organizations to set up tables, inviting a group to sell "made by survivors products," and of course the physical walk.  The first meeting with my superstar Freedom Walk committee is tomorrow.  It must be very heavily on my mind, because yesterday I was told that I was talking in my sleep and saying things like:
"that's a creative idea"
"write that down"
"yea, I like that"
... you know, the normal stuff in life.

This semester I have scholarships to finish applying for...no wait, start applying for.  I also need to begin hard-core studying for the GRE, since I want to be accepted to a graduate school.  I still have that TOMS internship on my mind as my dream internship.  So in conclusion, my goals for this semester are:
1- Win the Truman scholarship or the TOMS internship
2- Study for the GRE
3- Receive a 4.0/4.0
4- Make friends in my classes
5- Utilize my on campus gym and dance studio
(vacation wasn't so good to my healthiness level)

P.S. Happy last day of Christmas!

Distraught yet appreciative,
Christine

Another Libester Award!

What a wonderful way for my blog to hop playfully into the new year! This is my 3rd blog award from Donna from TALES OF A SHOPAHOLIC.  Donna is such a great blogger herself, we met through our blogs, but became sisters through BLOGGERS AGAINST SOCIAL INJUSTICE, because she is on the committee with me! Muchas muchas besitos y gracias Donna!

Now time for the questions:

1) What's one thing you love most about blogging?
Some people may think it's the fashion, but it really is not.   The support I receive from the amazing friends I have made, who are now like my sisters thanks to Bloggers Against Social Injustice is the best part!  I would have never thought I would have found a nitch where I have so much in common with others, where they have similar quarks and personalities!  So I suppose being tied to the computer is one place where I feel most accepted.

2) What is your current obsession?
Well, aside from my run toward Jesus...
Artist | Ingrid Michaelson

3) What is your style icon? I am not really sure what that means but...
Vanessa Hudgens
Hudgens is so gorgeous and I love her style (not so much her shorty shorts though).  She is also a Free People lover!  Hey, she has the same sweater as me! I probably inspired her...

 Antonio Berardi
"Fairy Meets Warrior" in his genius Spring 2012 collection.  So gorgeous, what an incredible talent!

4. What advice would you give a  fellow blogger?
Be careful when trying to be like your favorite blogger.  Invest your time in finding out "who" your blog is, then tackle that market.  But most of all, have fun!

5.  How will you associate blogging into your daily life?
Blogging is part of my daily life.  I check my stats, and comments, and connect with my blog friends every day.  Blogging has expanded my artistry in terms of photography.  Now when I look at things, I like to view things from different angles.

6. What are your stress busters?
#1 Bible   #2 Dance    #3 Diary    #3 Walking/running outside   #4 Editing photos for my blog's marketing

7. What style icon of the past do you prefer?

8. Do you believe in love at first sight?  What the heck is that?

9.  If you were given a chance to choose a career, what would you be doing?
Well, for the first few years I would be a Disney princess who made girls feel like princesses too, especially ones who have been through hard times.  This would mean that I would have to start something of the sort.  Then I would travel the world learning about culture and fundraising for something or another, bringing my camera along with me.  I would continue blogging with sponsors clothing me, and I would know many languages.  Sharing God's joy with the world is the plan!

10.  What makes you most nervous?
Something that shouldn't at my age.  I avoid the majority of guys I actually find attractive. It's just pathetic and completely working against my odds of contributing life to this fine planet. But it's really for the good of the world, because that situation is truly irrationally hilarious and  unnecessary.  You are welcome, world!

11.  What are your happiest moments?
Well, I love going to church during the day for mass (service), and I love being with my cousins, brothers, and parents.  Event wise, I loved the outcome of my GIRLS DAY events!

CLOTHING LOVES
I also wanted to share this cute new site I found.  They have really cute asian type apparel pieces  that sell at wholesale price!  There are cute fashion silk dresses, especially nice for those of you with petite frames.  For those of you on the search for an wholesale formal prom dresses which can actually be custom sized, and since it's wholesale price, you can still get a good deal!  If you are an online shopper, they also have jeans.  If you sign up now you can get 15% off too. ^_^
So, I am going through a nordic phase which is most likely due to the coldness I currently live in. I found the cutest sweater tights on this site, so cute... I decided to make an entire outfit from here around the Nordic print.  I went for  a comfy-cozy look.  Let me know what you think!

Relaxation & DIY Hair Tutorial!

[keep scrolling down]

I am so loving my new pair of specs I just got from Firmoo!  They are computer glasses, as I mentioned in my video, which is so perfect for my eyes. I say no to radiation when I can.  The pair I chose are called "Talk Nerdy To Me" (how appropriate for me) and can be found HERE.  I really love this pair because the frames are nice and thick and seem durable, so they can withstand the abuse they will probably go through with my unpredictable self.  They also come with a case,a little baggie, fixing tools and a microfiber cleaning cloth.  You can get this same pair or choose another for FREE HERE, and all you have to do is pay for shipping! They also have a virtual try-on function, for all you style handicap lovelies.  If you do get your free pair, definitely share it with me on my FACEBOOK PAGE!

1 important thought for today... a lady and texting.  After talking with some of my girlfriends and observing other girlies, I see how the idea of texting really holds importance to many people.  I personally see texting as the farthest from intimate form of communication.  When I communicate with people over text message I hold little emotional value to these messages, unless of course it is someone I am blood-close to (then I go crazy).  Let's say for example if I were invited out on a date over text message by a guy(not actually hypothetical).  How would I feel? First, I see that this may be considered normal to the younger generation (and perhaps old people who are somehow technologically aware).  Then I think, where has the form of using your vocal chords for communication gone to?  To my inner-self I scream: "Where is this ditch our generation is driving into, so I can build myself a bridge over it?"  I am just an old fashioned chickidee, I suppose.  But I will never go out with a guy if I am asked/typed/messaged over text.  I think a lady deserves more than that... I know a lady deserves more than that.  Oh, and when I found out my one friend's now-boyfriend first asked her out over text I wanted to tell him, "Boy, you use your vocal chords God gave you and ask her out with yo' face." VUWAHAHA! XD [I'm feeling kinda hyper now...musta' been the caffeine from that tea I was drinking in this photo shoot].
A lady and texting.

Ladies, what are your thoughts?
[and I suppose guys too]

In Giggles,
Christine
